  1. Why would Engenius not build it's own Wireless Access Points Enclosures? It will be good for our client's who's AP's are installed on hazardous or extreme environmental conditions.

For smaller antennas, the ground of the antenna connector (the outermost exposed part of an RP-SMA or N type connector) should have a cable wiring it to ground.

    What is 5G?

    5G is a new network system that has much higher speeds and capacity, and much lower latency, than existing cellular systems. The technologies to be used in 5G are still being defined, but there are some general themes everyone agrees on. 5G networks will use a type of encoding called OFDM, which is similar to the encoding that LTE uses. The air interface will be designed for much lower latency and greater flexibility than LTE, though. The new networks can use frequencies as low as old TV channels, or as high as "millimeter wave," which are frequencies that can transmit huge amounts of data, but only a few blocks at a time. 5G may also bring in Wi-Fi as a seamless part of a cellular network, or transmit LTE-encoded data over Wi-Fi frequencies, which is called LTE Unlicensed. 5G networks are much more likely to be networks of small cells, even down to the size of home routers, than to be huge towers radiating great distances. Some of that is because of the nature of the frequencies used, but a lot of that is to expand network capacity.   8. Directional antennas- as the name implies refers to signal coverage in a specified direction. Unlike omnidirectional antennas, directionals must be aimed in the direction of the signal transmitter or receiver which can be for example a router or WiFi hotspot. When it comes to aiming the antenna the user must be right on the signal for the best strength and quality. The way to ensure your aim is best is to know the width of the reception cone in which the antenna has. A good way to start without seeing actual lab data or knowing the specs is to judge by the dBi (decibel isotropic) rating. The higher the dBi rating the narrower the reception cone and knowing these data points you can then begin to narrow down the right antenna for you. As a rule of thumb to remember, high dBi rating = further distance covered but not area. Omnidirectional antennas are most commonly are used to create hot spots by transmitting a signal over a large area in all directions or receiving signals in all directions when the transmit location is unknown or close by. Omni WiFi antennas do not need to be pointed since their radiation cone is 360 degrees, working in all directions. Each specific antenna has a gain rating or dBi (decibel isotropic) number which coincides with the performance. The higher the dBi rating the larger the area the signal covers. Keeping that in mind and thinking about what your specific needs are you can begin to narrow down what antenna is best for you.

  12. I would say you may or may not reset your AP/Bridge/Router after a firmware upgrade. I think it is not necessary to manually push the reset button because you can restore the settings back to factory default on the GUI itself.
  13. @Lee10114 Yes we do have AP/Bridge that supports Mesh Network. As of the moments, the model that support it are ENH1750EXT & ENH90EXT, which happened to be an outdoor AP's.
