Caller ID

Recommended Posts

Caller ID is working on a different analog phone but not on DuraFon Pro/DuraFon4x. Aside from adjusting the Flash Time setting on the phone system, what other troubleshooting steps can we do to get the Caller ID working?

Check firmware version of the base. Make sure it is updated.

To check firmware version PRESS MENU, Star(*), Star(*), Pound(#), then 1 (base ID is 00 or 01 through 07 for additional base stations.

It should give you information such as the following:

- SP922PROV2
- HS-MCU3.15
- BS-MCU3.13
- HS-DSP3.13
- BS-DSP13.13
- BS-DSP23.12

1. What's Caller ID you used? FSK or DTMF?

2. Behind PBX or direct connect to PSTN?

3. If behind PBX, what's the brand and type of PBX?

According the system limitation, DuraFon Pro V1 V2/DuraFon4x supported FSK Caller ID only.

@idleman I wasn't able to get the information about what brand and type is the PBX the client is using but at least we have the information that our phone system supports FSK Caller ID only.

Verify if caller ID works when external/high gain antenna is removed and rubber/stock antenna used. If caller ID works, the external antenna should be grounded by its own separate ground in order to avoid the building ground interference. If Caller ID does not work after replacing the external antenna with the rubber antenna verify Caller ID service from phone company to operational.

I believe this is not applicable since there is no firmware file we can use to update the Durafon Pro/4x. Checking if the firmware is up to date only applies to Durafon-SIP/TAP system.

DuraFon Pro/DuraFon4x supports Bellcore FSK CID and means FSK data between ring on.

If it's a Durafon PRO system, already has caller ID service working and is behind a pbx system, then all you need to do is turn ON Line Detect.
MENU, 1 (System), 3 (Line Detect), 1 (ON)

By the way, Caller ID will not work if there is a group assigned to a Line.
