EMR3000 used wired

Recommended Posts

Hallo there.

I have a question about de emr3000 pods (Enmesh Engenius). Ik know you will only need to wire the master pod to use the systeem. But.... When I use powerline adapters to the second floor and connect the second and third pod of the system with it, will they work better? (Because they get the signal straight from the modem by the powerline adapters?) Or will they not work that wat?

Couln't find any answer on the internet.

Best regards

Hi DrDeJe,

EMR3000 firmware is not support wired backhaul currently.  Your scenario is not work with EMR3000.

We know your scope and needs, the wired backhaul function will be release with other major functions in recent firmware upgrade.

Thank you.

Hi Steven,

Can you tell me the number (ID) of that release? Can I check releasenotes somewhere? I know Google WiFi has got this function but I'm more happy with the Engenius products. So I hope that big firmware update will be there soon.

Best regards,

Yves

Hi there,

Is there someone from maybe the tech team who can tell me what's the number of the firmware with the backhaul function?

Will that function be available in 2017? Maybe 2018?

Best regards.

Hi Steven,

Do you have any update on this?

I have 6 pods but they keep disconnecting. I am very close to throwing them out. The first floor pods keep disconnecting with the ground floor. Even when the app and site say its green (optimum) they still disconnect. There is a concrete floor between them but they are literally 2 meters apart.

Latest firmware 1.6.1 , did full resets, hard resets etc.

A wired connection for the 1st floor would help considerably.

Hi Jan,

1.6.1.x firmware support wired mesh backhaul now.

You can wired EMR3000 with each other for better connection quality.

Master EMR3000 LAN Port(White) ---> Slave EMR3000 WAN Port(Blue)

The APP EnMESH will show wired connected in Diagnosis page.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I am confused. The app and webpage say I am on Firmware 1.6.1. No mention of 1.6.1.x.

The master EMT3000 is connected. Do you mean I can connect a slave via my lan or do I need a direct cable between master and slave?

Hi JanP,

You can connect each pod with you're lan. No need to connect them together.
