    eap1750h

    What would be the proper configuration for 3 eap1750h units? I have trouble getting connectivity when all three unit are in Bridge WDS mode. I was able to have all three connected when I had one in Ap WDS, and two in Bridge WDS. 1 is in the basement facing up on top of a NVR, another is on the 1st floor in a closet mounted on the ceiling, and the last one is in a cabinet facing up on a shelf. I have very weak Signal strength. -70 , and -78 dB. I can add a 4th unit if it will help the signal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. I've installed a new v3.0.0 firmware. After restoring the default settings and access point reconfiguration I've realized that I can no longer monitor WLAN details via SNMP, for example OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.14125.2.2.10.1.21. Is something wrong with the new firmware or maybe the MIB structure has changed?
  3. Hi I know that it's possible to connect to EAP1750H using WDS Access Point. However, that mean they will talk to each other wirelessly. I wonder if it's possible to setup two EAP1750H, both wired to the LAN, but the two APs should have the same SSID, channels etc so that the clients will switch seamless between the different APs. If it's possible, what would the best practices for a setup like this be?

    no internet only sometimes

    I have qty.2 eap1750h and qty.1 ens1750 All seam to be working very well and transfer from one AP to another. Most of the devices that are being used are (Samsung mobile S8, S7, Tab A, Dell laptop, Toshiba laptop, Fire TV, Alexa, Qty.2 nest cams Stationary, Ipad mini, iPad, Samsung smart TV) Some of these devices will work fine and then have no internet, when wifi on the device is clicked we will get something like signal good 100mbs. internet may not be available, then if we turn wifi off and back on-on the device it will work how it should for a Unforeseen amount of time and then lose internet again. (the only devices this does not happen to are the 2 nest cams. at-least for the last several days). It is frustrating for everyone whether they are trying to work or just goof around on a device. I am thinking it has something to do with the devices moving from one AP to another and that can be understood for some of it- the TV does not move and the fire TV device does not move so for them to do this to makes it frustrating like I should have went with another setup of sorts. (the indoor AP units are approx. 75 apart in separate basements with the power set at 14 for 2.4 and 21 for 5. the channels are separated by 1 and 11. the outdoor AP is set similar set to channel 6. (I used the best practices suggested by Engenius for setup and all three are Identical except for channels) Our service is FIOS-wifi turned off-IP is set out of range for all 3 example 192.168.1.246 where 245 is the last available on router.

    Firmware update

    I have three 1750H units. Two have firmware 2.0.361. One has 2.0.214. I can't find a place to download 2.0.361 from the website. I've heard of trouble after this firmware update. Any guidance appreciated.
  6. I noticed this morning that none of my 5 EAP1750H AP's has updated it's time for DST. I have each one set to update from 3.pool.ntp.org... any idea whats up here??
  7. The backup configuration file when exported from the EAP1750H has the .gz file extension as it is a GZIP compressed file. If a Mac computer is used when exporting the backup configuration file from and EAP1750H, it will automatically extract the configuration from the .gz file resulting in a larger file with a .tar file extension which cannot be uploaded directly to the EAP1750H using the configuration upload option on its GUI.
  8. EAP1750H, firmware 2.0.361 I have problem with that one of 3 SSIDs disconnects and reconnects, and never stops. I have a scheduled reboot of the AP every day and after a reboot the networks work as normal, bug after a few hours (it varies) the SSID will disappear and appear again, constantly until next reboot. Since the wifi-network is removed and added all the time, the clients that use this network are unable to do so. I have two other SSID (same configuration) that works great. I have tried to set the network to only be a 2.4GHz network but that does not seem to help. Because of this I suspect that it's one of the clients that is causing the SSID to disappear.   10. The 802.11ac protocol has a number of enhancements that have been implemented in multiple phases.   11. After updating the firmware on an EAP1750H from firmware version 2.0.214 to the version 2.0.361, the wireless settings page on the GUI is blank except for a few options. Fix: Try clearing the web history of the browser first and rebooting the EAP1750H. If the above does not work then reset the EAP1750H back to factory default settings by clicking on the RESET button the GUI and selecting the option to "Reset back to factory default". Of course the AP needs to be set up again.
  12. What will we do if the GUI cannot be accessed but the device can be pinged? 1. If a log-in screen appears, make sure to type in the correct log-in username and password. If not even the log-in screen appears, try the following: 1. Try typing https:// instead of http:// before the access point IP address. This is just in case the AP was configured for https access instead of http. 2. Disable the anti-virus and firewall on the computer. 3. Try another web browser. 4. Clear the web browser cache and browsing history. If the above fails: Reset the AP, connect the computer directly to the AP via Ethernet cable, disable the wlan adapter of the computer, set a static IP address on the computer Ethernet NIC that is on the same subnet as the default IP of the AP, check that the LAN LED on the AP is lit then try to access the AP GUI.
  13. Topic: What are the typical roaming problems? Scenario: Doctors uses iPad mini`s to view patient records and they are experiencing roaming issues. Answer: 1. Roaming aggressiveness of the wireless client is too high. - Wireless client roams between multiple AP`s, even though signal strength is stable. 2. Roaming aggressiveness of the wireless client is too low. - Wireless client is “sticky” to a particular AP, even though stronger AP is available. Solution: 1. Control the transmit power of each device. - Properly set the transmit power in reference to its location, physical obstructions or type of environment and wireless interference from neighbouring AP`s. - We recommend to set the transmit power initially to 14dBm on the 2.4GHz and 20dBm on the 5GHz then have an incremental of 3dBm if necessary. It is suggested to use an RSSI Tool to help identify the transmit power the AP needs. 2. Set a relative Fast Handover/ RSSI Threshold value. - Some wireless client devices retains connection to a weak signal even if there`s a stronger one available. - Set the RSSI Threshold/ Fast Handover value to -80dBm. It will force the client device to disconnect from the AP thus allowing it to scan and connect to a stronger signal. Applicable devices: EWS360AP, EWS350AP, EWS320AP, EWS310AP, EWS510AP, ECB1750, ECB1200, EAP1750H, and EAP1200H.
  14. If the 2.4GHz radio on the dual-band AP is set to Client bridge, WDS-Bridge or WDS Station then the option to set the 5GHz radio to Client Bridge, WDS-Bridge or WDS Station does not appear and vice versa.
